Pinpoint makes it easy for your customers to find the information they need. And if you already have GIS mapping or other software installed, that’s fine too. Pinpoint doesn’t replace your existing software. Instead, it enhances the software by acting as an interface with the end user – making it even easier for them to achieve their search goals.

Easy to use

Using Pinpoint is easy. Residents can go the relevant web page on your council website. They enter their postal code and a map of their neighbourhood opens up. Pinpoints pop up instantly, Pinpoint has been highly optimised and optimises the data to run quickly. By clicking on an Pinpoint residents can narrow their search right down to their own street.

No complicated forms to fill in, no text links to chase up. Pinpoint’s totally intuitive interface guides your customers to precisely the information they’re looking for.

Visitors never leave the website either. The information can sit in an iFrame and links stay pointed at your website.

Easy to set up

Once set up, there’s hardly any work left to do. pinpoint is hosted entirely by eGovToolkit, which also lightens the load on the council server. There’s no extra software to install. All the data uploads are automated into Pinpoint daily, hourly or as often as you wish.

Keeps customers up-to-date

Pinpoint’s email subscription service keeps customers up-to-date with the progress of spatial information. For example with the planning module residents can be kept up to date on all planning applications within set distances. Your customers also have access to historical planning data and can feed back their comments to you. Your planning team are happy too, with fewer visits, fewer calls and fewer letters to deal with.
